Function and Application
Cefepime Hydrochloride Non Sterile API Powder Cefepime Dihydrochloride Monohydrate 3

Cefepime is indicated for the treatment of the following infections caused by susceptible bacteria:

1) Lower respiratory tract infections, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, etc. 2) Urinary system infections, such as pyelonephritis. 3) Skin and soft tissueinfections. 4) Intraperitoneal infections (including peritonitis and biliary infections, etc.). 5) Obstetrics and Gynecology infection. 6) Septicemia.

Pharmacological action

1. Cefepime hydrochloride is a fourth-generation cephalosporin whose antibacterial mechanism is to inhibit the synthesis and metabolism of bacterial cell wall by binding to one or more penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) of bacterial cells, thereby exerting an antibacterial effect. Cefepime is characterized by high antibacterial activity, stable β-lactamase, especially chromosome-mediated Richmond-sykes type I β-lactamase, and very sensitive to Gram-negative bacilli producing type I β-lactamase Strong antibacterial activity. Cefepime has antibacterial activity against Enterobacter, Citrobacter and Serratia
producing type I β-lactamase over third-generation cephalosporins such as ceftazidime; antibacterial against Pseudomonas aeruginosa The effect is similar to or slightly worse than ceftazidime; the antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus is also enhanced than that of the third-generation cephalosporin.
2. Gram-negative aerobic bacteria: Pseudomonas (including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pseudomonas putida), Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Enterobacter (including Enterobacter cloacae, gas production) Enterobacter), variant bacillus (including Proteus mirabilis, common Proteus), citrate bacteria, Campylobacter jejuni, Haemophilus haemophilus, Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, gonorrhea Neisseria, Neisseria meningitidis, Salmonella, Serratia, Shigella, Yersinia enterocolitica.
3. Anaerobic bacteria: Bacteroides, Clostridium perfringens, Clostridium, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Weirong cocci. Cefepime hydrochloride has no antibacterial activity against most enterococci (such as Enterococcus faecalis, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus), Pseudomonas maltophilia, Bacteroides fragilis, and Clostridium difficile.
