Product Description
Product Information of Herbal Extract Powder
Berberine, also known as safranin, is a quaternary alkaloid isolated from the traditional Chinese medicine safranin, and is the main active ingredient in the antibacterial activity of safranin. It is a yellow, needle-like crystal with a bitter taste. It is widely distributed in the plant kingdom and is found in about four families and ten genera. chavalier and G. Pertin first obtained it from the bark of Xanthoxylonclava in 1826.
Berberine possesses antimicrobial effects against Streptococcus haemolyticus, Staphylococcus aureus, gonococcus and fever and Shigella dysentery bacilli, as well as enhanced phagocytosis of leukocytes. It also inhibited Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium plague in different degrees and had an inhibitory effect on amoeba in rats. Berberine has an anti-hypoxic effect on animals and has a terminal hypotensive and antipyretic effect. The hydrochloride of berberine (commonly known as huanglianin hydrochloride) has been widely used in the treatment of gastroenteritis and bacterial dysentery, and is also effective in tuberculosis, scarlet fever, acute tonsillitis and respiratory infections. Chinese medicine commonly uses Huang Lian, Huang Bai, San Zhen and X Gong Lao as purgative and detoxifying medicines, of which Berberine is the major active ingredient.

Pharmacological effects of Herbal Extract Powder
This product has a widespread antibacterial spectrum and inhibits a wide range of Gram-positive and negative bacteria in vitro, including Streptococcus haemolyticus, Staphylococcus aureus and Vibrio cholerae. It has a strong inhibitory effect against Streptococcus haemolyticus, Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio cholerae, Meningococcus, Shigella dysenteriae, S. typhi and S. diphtheriae. It also inhibits influenza virus, amoeba, leptospira and some skin fungi. In vitro experiments have shown that safranin enhances the phagocytic capacity of leukocytes and the reticuloendothelial system of the liver. The product is highly resistant to Bacillus dysenteriae, Streptococcus haemolyticus and Staphylococcus aureus. There is no cross-resistance with penicillin and streptomycin.
Pharmacokinetics of Herbal Extract Powder
It is poorly absorbed orally. Rapid entry into organs and tissues after injection and blood concentrations are maintained shortly. Blood concentrations after intramuscular injection are below the minimum inhibitory concentration. The drug is widely distributed, mainly in the heart, bones, lungs and liver. Most of the drug is metabolised and cleared in the body and less than 5% of the administered dose is excreted in its original form within 48 hours. Recently, it has been reported to reduce the number of hairs on the surface of bacteria so that they cannot attach to human cells and exert a therapeutic effect. It also acts against Helicobacter and may reduce gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers.
